Najdorf Esports: A New Name, A Familiar Aggression

The organization formerly competing as Rankers in OWCS Pacific is now Najdorf Esports.

The roster is the same. The coaching staff is the same. The goal — qualifying out of OWCS Pacific Stage 2 and earning our place on the international stage — is the same. What is new is the name, the look, and a clearer sense of who we are when we sit down across the map from an opponent.

The Najdorf Variation is the Sicilian Defence’s sharpest sound reply to 1.e4. It was Bobby Fischer’s favorite. It was Garry Kasparov’s weapon of choice in two World Championship matches. It looks, on the surface, like a quiet developing move — and then it explodes into the most-analyzed attacking lines in chess history. That is the identity we want carried into every match: patient, prepared, and aggressive at exactly the right moment.

OWCS Pacific Stage 2’s main event begins June 4, 2026 and runs through July 9. We will share roster announcements, match schedules, and watch parties from this site and our social channels in the weeks ahead.
